catfish pond size?

ok, so recently i got a red tail catfish that was 2-4 inches i looked online and it said that rtcs need a big fish tank or a pond,luckily for me, my family is buying a house in a month, and they said i could biuld a pond, but before that i wanna know one thing. How big a pond should i build?

With heaters,filters,skimmers,air pumps,and other accesories you will need a 1000 gallon pond or a deep 500. Also you will need a very large and tall footprint rather than a long,wide, and short footprint. Keep us updated with the build

At least an 8 by 4 by 4 probably should go a lot bigger though.

It'll have to be more then 4' they grow that big. And I hope that pound is heated and pre built. Or the rtc will out grow your tank before its even built.

Rtc will grow around 1"-3" a month! Extremely quick growers! So you need the pond built before you get the rtc. If you get him at 2" which is the smallest I've seen for sale, then he can be up to 5" by the next month! He will rapidly grow! Good luck! He will also eat you bankrupt
