Hello, is the paroon shark and I.d. shark very closely related but one just gets much bigger?

In a nutshell yes. The paroon will get much larger and is more aggressive.

Hey Bro, the Paroon Shark and I.D. Shark a.k.a. Irridescent Shark are very closely related but only the Paroon Shark get very big and very aggressive. The Paroons max at about somewhere around 6-8 feet long and very wide aswell but the I.D. Shark get to be only like 3-4 feet in lenght and not so wide but still big....

Only on MFK could someone say something like "get to be ONLY like 3-4 feet in length"!!!!

Ok thanks and one more question..........do they look very similar as they are growing up?

nope.
even when young its pretty easy to distinguish them.
paroons are normally darker in color and are fatter too.
plus they look less elongate.

Here is a picture of both fish. THe upper fish is an Imperial ID (Paroon) Lower is a ID shark. Body structure is different. Imperial is fatter, wider not as elongated. They have long strands hanging from fins. ID is streamline. Hope this makes it easier to visualize. It took an hour to get them in the same frame for picture. Sorry for the quality.

btw, the paroon's dorsal fin is really distinct. Very shark-like. The ID's is like a stump
