Have you ALWAYS researched EVERY fish that you've EVER purchased?

Here's a great link to planet catfish. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=121
S. eupterus is a very easy and undemanding catfish to keep. They are peaceful but will stand up for themselves if bothered. They will pretty much eat anything you offer.

Ya I never researched my fish. I just looked at max size, when it said 12" or more I knew it was for me :)

A little harsh. I usually do the same, but some fish you can't help but like, esp. if you did research and havnt come across it yet or seen it before for sale. Some of the fish stores i go to are around 2 hours away, if i come across something i like, its not like i can just come back for it later (also true at fish auctions)
Anyhow, nice choice, i always liked the patterns on those during all stages of growth, and good luck!

I mean of course i asked the guy at the lfs store and he told me max growth and it hardy and will get along with the fish i have. Also what it eats. After i got home i did the research myself and the gut at the store was right

That's a really beautiful fish, good pickup. It's nice when you get a fish you know little about and it turns out to be as manageable as that one!

Well ........ we all can't be as efficient as yourself :D

25 years ago I saw a nice little RTC for $25. I new nothing about it other than it was smiling at me and I bought it for my 20 gallon tank. Fast foward 25 years and I'm still keeping them :screwy:

If I had researched them I would have never bought it ;)

bob

it will eat just about anything you throw in the tank ... mine loves market shrimp and bloodworms and sometimes earthworms .And hey if you dont research a fish its a great reason to get a bigger tank lol:headbang2
