I bought a catfish today, and was told by the LFS owner that it could handle brackish and was some type of Pimelodidae cat. I dripped it into my tank and it is just hiding right now. Should I be worried? All I had to go on was the word of my LFS owner!

He's just adjusting. I dont think he's hiding because he doesnt like the water but because its a new environment in general. Turn the lights off and give him some time?!

Whew, I am a whole lot less worried now. It is just when I googled it, the website said that family can't go in brackish. He is just hiding now, and now I am just worried my puffer is gonna beat up on him. Little monster. I put some plastic plants in there for everyone to hide in and when I picked up the cat I also bought a nice piece of driftwood. It is soaking in a bucket now but will go in once it soaks up some water!

What kind of puffer is in the tank?

and evil, i mean Figure 8 puffer I already caught him sneaking into the catfish's cave to take a bite.

The cat is doing ok, let's just hope that is true tommorow morning.

He didn't make it.    I really liked him. Maybe I will separate the puffers next time and then put him in so he has a chance to hide. When I pulled him out of the tank, his mouth was HUGE!
