Catfish Recommendation

I have a 46 bowfront that I'd like to add a few bottom dwellers once it is cycled. I was thinking a few pictus. I've seen the spotted and the lined ones and not sure what the difference is. They will likely be moved to a 125 later on so not a big deal if they outgrow the tank at some point.

Any other suggestions? What are the differences in pictus?

I have 4 spotted pictus that I got about a month ago, very awesome fish, I would highly recommend them. Always zipping around together, will make sure there isn't a scrap of food that goes uneaten.

They are different species in the same genus - look up Pimelodus pictus (5"-6" max) and Pimelodus blochii (10"-14" max). Pictus shoal, need at least a dozen IMHO. Blochii are better alone in smallish tanks.

I'd think what size catfish I can take care of for its life, come up with a list of candidates I like and can find and afford and go from there.
