Catfish shedding

This isnt common for catfish but this is definitely something that happens with goonch catfish. Ive done some searching and didnt come up with much but im curious as to if anyone has figured out if its an indicator of anything? My previous goonch would shed once in a while the one i had would shed and is now doing it in my tank. Not worried just kind of curious as to what this means really. Is it good or bad etc?

Lol my goonch would shed after some water changes. I always thought it meant he was growing

Goonch have been known to shed some slimecoat Atleast on the forum. Suspect it maybe a change in water temps so be cautious.

I can tell you my instance isnt from temperature change.
