Catfish Shyness

I'm somewhat directing this towards my catfish, but I'd be interested to find out exactly how timid catfish are.

I have an eclipse catfish (learned not long ago they school so I plan on going out and at least getting one more) but it's always hiding. Is this just because it's not in a group?

On top of that, how timid/shy are catfish in general? Curious to know

It's more about the fact that most catfish are nocturnal then it is about him being shy, but yes adding to the group might bring him out, but I cant make any promises. try turning out the light and waiting to see if he moves that should tell you if it's simply because of being nocturnal...

Try to spot feed it. We had one at work that hid for months. I started spot feeding him bloodworms with a turkey baster, and now he will poke his head out and actually eat the worms right out of the baster. I predict that he will soon start to come out when it is feeding time at this rate.
