Hey I just got done filleting a good maybe 20 inch catfish and wondering what would happen if I fed the skin of a channel catfish to my aquarium fish???? Any nutritional value or anything just curious image.jpgimage.jpg

Rtc/tsn Rtc/tsn what does the river look like that you caught them out of? feeding it raw would be a bad idea because catfish slime is full of bacteria and I would be worried about external parasites
I catch them at a lake a few minutes away, the water is fairly clean I’ve never seen or heard of anything catfish a sick or damaged fish but it’s also from a reservoir

Isn't catfish very oily? Make sure you have good surface agitation or it'll form an oil film on the surface

I've heard fish skin can be crispy and tasty, but have no idea about catfish skin. THoughts on tossing it in a pan full of hot oil? You could score it to make it slightly less tough. I might wash it and rub it with salt to remove the slime though...
