Hi All,

I have just noticed that 1 of my upside down catfish has a health problem, (see picture). I can't tell what the issue is.

I added some fish a last week, kept them for 3 days then moved them to my new tank (4 moorii dolphins) , tested my water everyday , not ammonia spike. Ammonia, Nitrite 0 - PH 7.4 and Nitrate below 20

Welcome to MFK!

Looks like may be slime buildup, unevenness, and maybe some discoloration of slime. If it is, it is a sign of stress, which, given the circumstances, would be logical to link to the new fish introducing new pathogens.

It is shooting in the dark.

The more you tell us according to this http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/fish-health-diagnostics-read-before-posting.210102/ the better we might be able to help.
Any way of treating it?

It's hard to treat something you have no clue what it is.

For instance, if one sneezes do you treat for a respiratory infection, common cold, allergy reaction, runny nose, or is it just dust / smoke in the room, mucus dysfunction, inadequate hygiene, and so on? Sneezing is even one of the symptoms of a heart attack.

If it is a build up of "slime coat" it could just be the fishes natural defences against pathogens brought on by the new comers. Just something to take note of. Just monitor the tank closly for a few days for any unusual signs.

agree looks like slime. How is the fish doing? Clean water and stress free environment might take care of it

Quick update since the last pictures it went a lot worse, all red and under the skin, put some medication and has healed pretty quick and recovered. It's skin back to normal

I say start with salt, agreed? 1 Tablespoon for every 5 gallons....., then go from there

glad he is doing better. Too bad we don't know the inciting cause
