hey one of my neighbors has a skull from a catfish that they found on the Platte River near Schyler Nebraska. I am trying to find out how long the catfish would have been. The jaw of the catfish skull was 14 inches wide. I know that it had to have been a monster. but does anybody have any approximate length? the only catfish native to this area that get possibly anywhere close to that big is a flathead catfish, blue catfish, and maybe a channel catfish on steroids. i have never seen a catfish from this area that is that big in the wild.

nice. thanks. ill tell my friend that. that would be massive. the only way i could think of a catfish that size of dying is of natural causes. is that a good guess? because as far as i have heard, nobody in that area has caught a flathead that size from the platte river.
