What are some catfish that grow to a foot about that can be housed in normal tanks like 75+ lol. I know Pictus but they like groups and I don’t like the extremely long whiskers. I’m looking for something with a normal catfish body shape not Raphael or things like that. I liked Lima but they get a little to big.

When you said lima you mean the actual lima? I read a post from a respected member here that said about 99% of the "lima" shovelnose sold in america are actually a sub species (?) That only grows 1 foot instead of 2 feet.
Port hoplo? Sun catfish? TsnXniger catfish? Tom Maguire Tom Maguire sold me one, looks amazing and looks like a normal catfish kinda lol.

TsnXniger would get way over a foot right?

I would love to own the subspecies of Lima that stay around a foot how do I tell the difference? I researched the Lima shovelnose that said 18” on average.

Do you like synodontis catfish, many of them have great colours and are perfect for a 75. They’re more active then Lima and Raphaels but not as active as pictus

Would a TsnXniger really stay under a foot, I can’t find any info on them

I've been told by Tom maguire that they grow only to a foot oddly enough. He said it took 10 years or so to grow to 12 inches? I'll have to check my conversations to be exact.
As for the subspecies, like I said thebiggerthebetter said that about 99% of the "lima shovelnose catfish" that get sold in america are actually the smaller species. I'll find the link for you.
