Catfish sun basking

Big group of 8-9" seemed to be guarding a giant swarm of 2-3" all just hanging out catching some warm water.. Man it made me want to catch some of the little guys

Sounds like bullheads? About the right time of year too, if my memory serves.

No clue on the ID.. Were some pumpkin seed sunfish and large mouth near by...makes me want a native setup

Lots of guys run natives tanks. I used to before I lost everything to a power outage and went with exotics. Natives are great fish to keep IMO.

I know what you mean but the distinction between the natives and the exotics is rather clear for all US parts.
