What would be a good kind of catfish to put in with my Jaguar hybrid? He lives in a 75 gallon tank for now. He is 14 inches long and very aggressive. I have a smaller 30 gallon tank to grow a smaller cat up to the size that could go in with "Jag" and hopefully not get eaten! Jag already killed a pleco, so he is currently living alone. I don't know that much about catfish, but I thought maybe a Pimadella cat? I had 2 of them before and they got about 10 inches long. Also the only cats I can find where I live are pictus cats, some synodontis and plecos. I'd like to have a big nice looking cat in with Jag.
I wouldn't mind ordering outside of my area, maybe online if I had to. Any thoughts out there?

He is part Jaguar cichlid and I'm not sure what else. I think maybe losellei. He has Jaguar markings around his head and the jaguar coloring, but patttern towards tail is different. I will upload a picture when I get to a computer that allows it. My work computer won't let me do things like that. He was sold to me as a Jaguar hybrid, no other information about him. He is very aggressive. He has a very large mouth with good sharp teeth. He tries to bite me when I reach in to fix filter tubes. Not sure how he would take to anything else living with him, but I do need a scavenger.

Sorry, I am not much help with cichlids. How did the pleco die, from constant stress leading to sickness or from a battle? If he is so aggressive, it's destined for a loner tank. Perhaps you could have shrimp "clean the bottom".

Sounds like your in the same boat im in with my male jag he will nit let anything live with hime either i had a large pleco with him for a while just gave him lots of hidouts. Then one day he caught him. so i dont know that there are too many good options i can think of cause most.of.the cats i imagine work will outgrow your tank. If you put him in a larger.tank and add a cat then may be the best bet for you with adding things with him. Good luck and lovely fish by the way.

I might have to get a really big pleco, at least a foot long. I'll have to research some cats and see what I can find out. A larger tank is a good possibility at some point.
