Catfish whiskers

Noticed the whiskers of my Niger are a bit interesting. They are forked on its left side. I don't seem to remember this on my previous cats. Unusual or normal?

very cool imo lol... ive seen this on my TSN from time to time. Just regrowth from a damaged barbel.

Could be I suppose but I've had this girl for over 10 months (5") and no one ever messes with her.

It's not uncommon. As Wednesday said, sometimes they grow back branched. I am not aware of any other reason but the regrowth.

I've seen it on large Pims, channels, others but it's a first for me on a Doradid. Not surprised though.
