LOL I have a 6-9 mo old male kitten -had sworn off cats after having one I swear needed an exorcist.Anyways a few months back a neighbor gave /threw a kitten at me - he seemed so cute and helpless ect ect :headshake Dont get me wrong when hes not pestering the heck outa me ,and sneak attacking my feet when Im in a rush trying to do something ....hes actually a sweetheart ;) .Heres my question anyone keep cats ?,when do they ever chill out? and is keeping a christmas tree upright and intact completly out of the question? :duh: Lol just venting :D

My cat just turned 2 this month =) Love her to death!! When she was little she loved the x-mas tree she would try to climb it of course, but one thing I have found is that whatever you do DON'T use that tensel junk, if your cat east it, it get's caught in the tummy and well it all goes downhill from there. One other thing is the first two bottom sections - I would advise you not to hang any ornaments.... O__o just personal experience... my cat would attack them constantly. =) Now she's to fat to do anything <3

I have three cats, all are older cats, between 6-9 yeas old. I have never had a cat bother a tree though I know others who have. Mine just sleep under it.
As far as your cat calming down, I noticed they won't generally calm down unless you were to get another kitten...then the current cat seems to grow up. That is obviously not an option though because you would then have two cats.

Dont mention cats to me.

As some people on this site know I having a lot of problems with cats. LOL

DUDE IT'S CALLED.... '' CATNIP'' BIG AMOUNT'S OF ''CATNIP'' .. that stuff will have him/her chasing blue & purple mouse's that are'nt even there , cool stuff! ... but seriuosly it will calm him/her down , way dddddoooowwwwnnnn...! :grinyes:

How did that work out for you GTS?, you did not post for a while so I figured that you had followed some of the advice you were given and were now locked up somewhere.

My girlfriend bought me a little christmas tree last year. I put the little guy up and my cats had all of the ornaments all over the floor. Tinsel all over the room and the tree looked like it got burned down. They were both kittens at the time. As for calming down neither one of my cats have calmed down. They get calm when they get fat from what I hear.

it'll chill out once it's older. It is possible to keep christmas trees with cats, just tricky. don't hang the ornaments to low or they'll become their toys:) Our tree always looks funny cuz on the bottom foot of the tree, there's nothing...

Get it fixed...that'll chill it out. That's what happen to mine.
