Maybe this is the wrong thread but lately a few of my cats have been "Flicking off of rocks and the bottom of the tank".I do ALOT of water changes(almost everyday).I also have good water circulation.Could this be ich(i havent noticed any white spots)i'm thinking that 1 of my new cats may have been sick when i got him the (large TSN who has only eaten 1 shrimp the almost 2 weeks i had him)I am almost thinking that maybe my smaller sized Albino ARTC could e behind it(stressing the other cats out at nite)my ph is 7.0 and like i said i do very frequent water changes.Any help is appreciated.Mods if this is the wrong forum please place in right 1.

Are all of the fish doing it? and how often?

Also what % of water are you chainging every day?

May well be overdoing the water changes tbh.

You say your PH is at 7, what about nitrate and amonia?

I have seen this alot at the store i work at, usually in the saltwater side. What we do to treat this is give the fish a freshwater bath, and flukes come out of the fish like crazy! What I would do is maybe add some aquarium salts to the water, take the newest one and do a 5% salt solution bath. Take water from the aquarium and add salt till you achive the 5%, use a refractometer or a hydrometer to make sure you are acurate. the fish should only stay there for 20 minutes or it is not worth doing. BUT if you see your fish in distress remove before the time is up. The fish will look at first like it is feeling heavy and laying on its side, this is normal after a little while the fish should be looking a little more perky and watch for white flukes coming out from all over the body, its crazy to see it when it comes from the eyes and gill plates. I hope that helps. You could bring the the salt even to 10% but see how the lower one works first.

Dont think fresh water fish would be infested with flukes, maybe if they were wild caught very recently, but really doubt this, at least cant say I have ever heard of that before.

Not saying youre wrong, just isnt something I have ever heard of.

Flashing (flicking off the rocks or bottom as you called it) Is somewhat normal for cats, it can be just a simple iche that they are scratching or it can be the sign of something more...That said do the usual treatment of Salt and bump the temp and you should be fine, Unless there are no other signs then I wouldn't be tooooo concerned
