Been a while so I thought I would post a few pics of my cats in my 240 gallon. I have quite a few cats in with my central american cichlids including:

1x niger (around 15")
1x Megalancistrus Parananus L234
6x Synodontis Multipunctatus
1x Rhino Pleco
1x Synodontis Decors (around 8" and impossible to photograph)

The niger is my favorite, just an eating machine and nothing can stop it. My cichlids try in vain to slow him down and keep him from getting the food. Pretty funny.

The L234 is my newest cat, got him from Tangled Up in Cichlids. Very pretty fish.

The pack of multipunctatus are very active and are always chasing each other around the tank. Very hard to photograph as they never hold still. Also very easy to tell the females from the males as they are about twice as thick.

The decors is an awsome fish and is impossible to photograph. I swear he has camera radar. Fat as a pig and about 8" without his fin extensions. Had him for about 2 years now and he was about 2" when I purchased him.

Enjoy

Not sure about the common names for niger cats. I think most people call them nigers but I would see where ripsaw could be used.

I will say if you have a tank big enough, they are the most awsome "pet" fish you will ever own. They don't bother anything, respond just like a dog (or Oscar) when you come into the room, they beg for food, and will eat anything and I mean anything that you care to feed them.
