I would say I catch one of these guys 1 out of a 100 fish I catch on average, but this guys special, he's only 4 inches.

Its a Northern Sea Robin. I cant find my camera cable but I'll post a pic later. I put him in a holding tank for now but I'm wondering what you guys think I should do with him. Since there is no size limit for them, I can do whatever I please with it. I dont have a salt tank set up so keeping it for myself is pretty much out of the question. Are they worth anything in the sw fish keeping world? not that it matters. Anyone who wants it can have it. I am in Ocean City, MD right now but I can bring him back with me to Frederick, MD. whenever...

That's cool, how big do they get?

I catch at least a dozen of these things everytime I go fishing. Neat little things. My fishing buddy is scared of them, I have to take them off his hook lol. He said their little leg things freak him out.

agh i've cought those before, They scare the crap outa me, I didn't know what they were untill now :)

They had a display of them at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT when I was a kid, not sure if they're still there though. They're neat...like a pretty toadfish (ever catch those? They always swallow the hook and they bite like a vice).

I caught about 10 of them yesterday :D My son loves them. I've caught them up too about a foot or so. I catch small ones in my crab traps all the time. Years ago I tried one in my salt tank. He did pretty good but they eat like a horse and are very messy. Cool fish ;)

Having grown up on Cape Cod, I saw many many of these Sea Robins. They are wonderful fish, and grow to about 14 - 16 inches. But due to overfishing, etc, you won't see them that size anymore. They eat a LOT, and I hear they can be quite aggressive. I never kept one though. But they are hard to beat.

Are they salt water fish? Looks like a plec.
