Caught a "red devil"?? deformed lips...

I was told that red devils inhabited this one canal by Sunpress in Kaneohe HI. i went to check it out and sure enough came back home with a 4'' orange colored fish along with a 2.5'' convict.

i checked both fish for teeth etc to make sure it was "worthy" and was on my way. but i couldnt help notice how swollen the devil's lips were . Is it just me? because i google Red Devil Cichlids with no results like this one;

if it isnt a red devil, then i wonder what it even is??

i believe the big lips on rd are natural from looking at pics the big lips authenticates them

Nice looking Devil. Lake Wilson also has some monsters. You can even get ones that are all white.

The lips get calloused from their natural diet. Shell fish and snails. Nice fish, I would love a wild one.

i dunno if they even exist but i have heard some bizarre ones like a guomi with an oscar. but i didnt see it so its in the air.
plus i'm not spelling it right.

amphilophus labiatus. if you go on Rapps site all the RDs have big lips. nice fish

thanks, you make me wanna go there more and more, maybe i'll get off my butt during this spring break and take a jab there. 323 said the big lips authenticates my RD... does it mean that all those google results are not of the fish???

LOL in pic 3 that tail in the foreground of my pic looks like a large fish but its a feeder comet XD. ( i have 3 and consider them pets since all my monsters dont even notice them for some reason)

Check out "Hawaii Bass Fishing" They have pictures of Red Devil with fat thick lips.
