good point, most shrimp and silver sides are frozen and dosnt that eliminate the risk of spreading parasites?

99% of saltwater parasites and bacteria will die in freshwater long before they have a chance to infect your fish as well as the morphological differences in the fish will usualy mean the pathogens are unable to infect freshwater fish anyway

Any "theory" to the contrary is just a poor geuss and nothing more than a geuss, to be a theory it must have some reasonable scientific backing to it.

Wondering why i said 99% ? well theres one pathogenic bacteria i know of that can go from freshwater to saltwater and thats Micobacterium Marinum the causitive organism of fish tuberculosis, this disease only happens in unhealthy fish though if you water quality is fine your fish will not get it anyway. Any freezing will kill this bacterium.

I give frozen mackeral (atlantic mackeral) to my piranhas as a treat once every week or 2 and they really enjoy it. Saltwater fish are fine to feed your freshwater fish.

cool thanks for the info im a little sketched though because i caught it and gave it to them 30 minutes later sometimes i dont think

Its like anything, moderation is the key. One time isn't going to kill your fish. If you're worried about it, fillet the fish, freeze and thaw the fillets.
