I was fishing in a small river in Florida today and I caught this on a live minnow. It measured a little over 9inches. Can anybody ID it for me and let me know how big this this thing will get? Thanks

It doesn't seem native. That's for sure! lol

It's not native. It's a brown hoplo catfish (Hoplosternum littorale) originally from S. Amer.

Ok very cool thank you. Is it possible there are more in the river or is this just a random pet somebody released that I just so happen to catch?

They're well distributed throughout Fla. now. They breed readily in the abundant floating plants in Fla waterways (bubblenest builders) and can survive in low O2/stagnant systems.
