I have 2 Red Ear Sliders and would like to increase the amount of water in my tank as well as giving the fish a place to hide and the turtles a place to bask. The idea is to take some 24" by 24" slate tiles that have broken or chipped in a recent house project and cut them into sections to create a basking area. It would have 2 legs and a top. This should be simple enough, but I had two questions.
1. Which caulk should I be using? I was thinking a simple clear silicone caulk. (eg. http://www.homedepot.com/Bath-Showe...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053)
2. Do you think this caulk would work for tile?
3. Is there any issue with natural slate in a tank? From research on here I would say yes.
