CB Endli Growth Rate

I’ve had this CB endlicheri for 19 months and it seems like his growth has either stopped or it’s extremely slow during this past year. He started at 3” and now is stuck at the 9.5” mark. He’s one of the most aggressive eaters in the tank too. I do 50% water changes every five days and feed shrimp, tilapia and massivore pellets. Due to his genetics is he done growing?

When I purchased the endli, I also had a delhezi and ornate that were the same size as him, all three being 3”. Today, the ornate is 14” and the delhezi is 11.5”, both of them had better growth rates than the endli.

I have a Endlicheri that looks exactly like yours he is over 7 years old and has stopped growing. I'm a firm believer that genetics has something to do with growth of some CB Polypterus.

Genetics. This fish looks like it could potentially be a SB, or just semi sb.

Yes it’s genetic
I have 5 pieces that I started at 2-3”...now 18 months later 4 pieces have reached 18” but there’s one fella that is still 10-11”. Same batch of bichirs.
