Hey guys, I saw the primer but I am still unsure. How big does a CB Senegal bichir really get? Cos there are people that say that CB Senegals can grow to 40-50 cm. How do you differeintiate between senegalus senegalus and senegalus meriodinalis? And normally CB Senegals are senegalus senegalus right?

They usually only get 8" or so sometimes you can get lucky and have one that grows past that but usually they don't grow past 8". As for the differintiation there really are no meridonalis in the hobby to compare. There was a Senegal caught in lake Turkana that was said to be the closest well get to a meridonalis, but there aren't really any in the hobby other than that. A way to tell the difference is the max size meridonalis get a lot bigger than normal sens.
Dang I'd love to see a CB Senegal that size! Mine is 10 inches; as Dr. B said they usually top out around 8 inches.
