somebody recently on here told me cedar was bad for red tail boas,so i took it out my cage and replaced it with paper towels. Now my question is is cedar ok for tokay or golden geckos?Just curious, because if it isent,im just gonna throw the whole bag in a dumpster:D

i bought one yesterday from petland.I read that they were the only known geckos that could actually share a tank with tokays, and since they were out of tokays,i decided to get my tokay a companion.

o yea he is real nice, dosent bite or anything like my tokay.

Maybe it will be okay.... how big is the tank?

And I would get rid of the cedar, it has oils that are poisonous to some herps and can cause respiratory and skin problems in others.

Cedar is pretty much like a hot rock; they should both just be taken off the shelf in petstores because they're really not good for anything.

Some people can use cedar shavings to line doghouses, but thats about it, and even that's kinda iffy, IMO.

Cedar and pine are not even fit for feeder rodents... let alone rabbits, pet rodents and reptiles.

cypress mulch or aspen works good. im partial to cypress mulch
