Hey, thought I would post a picture of this ray that one of my LFS has labeled as a Ceja ray.

The picture really doesn't do it justice. It was a beautiful ray.

They really are a sweet fish! The LFS I worked at in high school could get them real cheap from transhipper. It was always a temptation when they were on the list. LOL

Yes very nice looking rays and there are two of them. They have been at the store here for 3 weeks and adjusted well and are slurping down minnows like crazy.

Yeah, I have since read a little about them, not because I want one but because of just curiosity. Apparently, they can reach nearly 7-8 feet in diameter! What is it doing in a fish store?! I guess it goes up on my WTF list, along with the red tail catfish, alligator far, arapima, sturgeon, and several others. I know these stores are trying to make money but do they really not have a care in the world about selling these fish. Or, do they just figure it is a fish that won't last long in an aquarium and so the customer will be back sooner for more fish, which is more sales.

Yes they do get large. But from the info I've found they max out at 92 cm (about 36 inches).A far bit from 7-8 feet. Either way not a fish for everyone.Even those of us that have a 16 foot long tank.

I think in most instances the LFS doesn't have any idea on the size when ordered. Or it may just get sent to them as a sub. I know several instances when we ordered from Columbia and half our order was subbed with rays and we ordered no rays. In most instances if you do not put a sub down on the order it's sellers choice. So if they had alot of rays to get rid of that week... you will be getting rays.
