Cement holding tank for cichlids

So this might sound crazy but this is what I do!
I want to pour (up to 1000gallons) cement holding tank for cichlids in my basement I also want it to be restangled shaped with one of the longer walls being glass. It would be topless and run hanging lights. I have a natural gas line going to where I want to put the tank.

Just thinking about it...However Im getting itchy Dang I might have ick!:screwy:
 
Sorry should of been more general. the natural gas line was a line to fire place witch I have removed. I know alot about pools and was going to run a pool filter and heater system on the holding tank. I figure everything is the same except the chlorine levels. if its a sand filter i see why i couldnt mix it with charcoll. and hving bio rocks in the return hose housed at different intervals where I could take apart the hose when not running Have a shut off valve at the filter/heater.... I know crazy!!!!!!!!!! But I think it will work worse case I got to use a differnt filter and heater system.
