I may build a couple of concrete block tanks in the spring, and I'm trying to start planning now.

Lots of folks here use epoxy or drylok to seal concrete tanks. Why don't you use cementitious waterproofers like Aquafin 1K? Is it more expensive, harder to work with, less effective, etc...

There are a lot of ways to skin a cat. I wondered more than once if it would be feasible to use something like Xypex (I think that's how you spell it) to seal a concrete tank. Apparently it's food safe. I think when it comes right down to it people lean towards tried and true methods.

Aha! Severum1 used a cementitious sealer (Sikatop Seal 107) in the concrete tanks in his greenhouse! Now I just have to get ahold of some of this stuff. It doesn't seem to be stocked at ordinary building supply places, and I've found no way to order it online; I may have to ask some of my contractor friends if they know how to get it.

That Xypex looks very interesting too. I may have to try a few test runs with different products.
