Center brace craking help!!!!!!!

OK guys. I have a 55 gallon tank and the center brace is craking. I cylconed it. but i herd another crack last night. I dont have time to get another tank yet. Do you guys think i will be ok if i put a piece of wood on the each side of the top of the tank and used a clamp to but slight pressure on it. Or should i try to find a tank asap. trying to hold off because we are getting a new tank downstairs so i will be getting the 75 gallon tank we have downstairs.

i would think the clamp idea would work, especially on a tank that size

Iam actually going to go right now and make a wood clamp that will sit over the top of the tank and grab the back and front and keep it together.
