is it needed? i filled up a tank i have with no center brace and got 5/16" of bow...is that enough to bust the tank? i plan to get a new top frame with the center brace, but i was planning on getting some fish that could grow out in the tank. they would come in before the brace is it fine to get them and then do the brace later?

If you're already planning on getting the new top frame, I would wait. But if you cannot wait, and the fish are small, maybe you could only partially fill the tank.

i havn't gotten the brace yet...i have an order that is comming in on tues or wed and i want to get some small gar or pbass i am not decided yet...i have rays ordered and these fish would be added to my order...i can get them cheaper then anywere around me and i only want to pay shipping once...i may be able to put them into a diff tank, but i would like this as an option as the other tank will have the rays in it...

If the tank orginally came with a brace, get the brace first. Better safe than wet. If it is time issue, find another tank or hit up walmart of a $12 ten gallon has a holding tank til your brace gets in.

if this is a glass tank, that is an awful lot of bow! I would brace that tank before using it

alright i get the top brace before i use it...it is glass...i'll just put them in a diff tank till it is ready...

my lfs can get them, my friend works at a lfs and i will see if he can get me one cheaper...he got one for his 40gal for $20 so i'll see
