Ok, I am not convinced that these are a great food for Aros. I know many want to feed their Asians these arthropods but what is so good about them? I suppose the red ones have carotenoids that may help color the fish. I imagine that the venom glands are taken care of by the stomach of the fish and the fish my occassionally get them in the wild when the forest floods or they walk into the water. I would like to see a stomach content study of Asians showing these as a dominant food. Is it just tradition to feed these because the fish gets the power of these venomous arthropods? Is it like men eating Fugu puffer or wanting Rhinocerous horn or gall bladders of bears. Help me understand.
