Somewhere lost
I have a 75gl tank I am going to set up for my boa. I want to put some plants in it so she can use them to climb onto them and hide in them. I was wondering what plants would be a good choice.

as far as live plants go, you wont be able to find any that will support your boa and go well in a 75 gal. I would stick to silk/ plastic plants and some wooden branches. as an FYI though, I have never seen my big female off of the ground in the 6 months that I had branches in her tank. I eventually took them out.

Mine is only 2' right now. I see her on the fake vines every night before I go to sleep. Also when I put her back in her tank she prefers being set on a vine then the ground. I don't plan on having her in the 75 for more then 5 months. Me and my father are going to build her a 10'x6'x8' room. So the plants would be transferred to that when it is done being built. I am trying to get it at natural as I possibly can with what room I am giving her.

As mentioned, you will not find plants that are small enough to fit in a 75 gal that are stout enough to support the weight of your Boa (even when she's small)...

Thus you will want to use tree braches or something similar as 'hardscaping' that she will be able to climb on... then you can accent with either silk plants, ferns, climbing plants, etc, etc...

It is exceptionally unlikely that your Boa will ingest any plant kept in the tank, so most plants will be safe for you to use. My suggestion is to go to your local stores to see what is available, decide a few that you like, then come home and research them to see if they are in deed safe...

Anyone with a central american can I see some pics of the snake/enclosure. I will put up pics of her tank once she is in her new one. Also I got a substrate called jungle mix it's fir & sphagnum peat moss. Is this okay for her tank? I want to keep is so she can bury herself seams how she enjoys doing so.

She prefers the laptop over my hand if I go near it she goes right to it. Also is good at posing for the camera.
