Central American Cichlid tank

344 gallons of joy. Haha well im wanting to do sumthing w those great meduim sized central americans ie. firemouths " and yea..
Well i was thinking four groups of like 5-10 specimens. So... Sumthing like
10 Firemouths
4 jack dempseys
1 large male con
1 pleco
6 T bar cichlids
2 Texas (pair) Maby whaat do you think? to aggresive?
15 swordtails

Im really stuck on filtration whats the most effeciant, cheapest option? im really short on money but i want to make shure that the tank is filtered greater than needed.

go out to wal mart and buy up some of the largest filters u can if they have any that even range that high idk..... would be ur best bet as for fish, make sure all of them have a cave and its spread out

Go with a single sump or a couple canisters.

fluval 304 and 404's on ebay 65.00-78.00 with free shipping put one of those on and like said go to walmart and buy 2x aquatech 330's for 30.00 bucks each this should get you going and buy you time to add on in the future since your fish will only be juvies.I would add on as they grow.I wouldnt do a tex pair to aggressive.

Best all around filter option (cost & performance) would be a DIY wet dry.

i was thinking of doing a diy 55 gallon wet/dry sump and then like a cannister filter

could be wrong but i was always told that jacks and plecs dont go well together as the jacks will take out the eyes of the plec, could be wrong, worth checking

do just one texas or replace with a pair of a smaller species, like rainbow cichlids.

yea, okay dropping to 1 tex, and i think im going to drop the plec and add some more swordtails
