So here is a brief overview of my most recent project. It basically is a regular aquarium built for easy maintenance with a little extra flare. Like in the title I was roughly trying to recreate the bank of a Central American cichlid habitat.
I started out with a tank I built a few years back and a log I stole out of the local park that washed up during a relatively recent bout of highwater. I had to trim the main part down a bit.
Then I purchased a few bromeliads and attached them to my stump via fishing line.
Next I added a few rocks.
Finally I added some substrate and attached some orchids and moss. That pretty much sums up the project. Here's the end product.
