There is one store where I actually normally like the selection but they sure seem to think some of their fish are worth a lot of money. But then some of their stuff is very reasonable. I think to myself....do they just pull prices out of a hat and slap stickers on the tanks? They have had one huge "electric" eel for a number of years (and I love eels) but they want $300 for him and while that may be fair in some areas...its supply and demand. You have a very small number of fishkeepers around here who can actually handle that guy and none of us are willing to devote the tankspace (obviously) to keep him for that price. They could pay me $300 to take him and I still might not do it. So they have all these great, large fish in very small tanks for a lot of money and they've had them for a long time. And they have some small fish for about 3x what they should cost but then some things for pretty cheap. I was pretty happy to pick up 2 tire track eels from them for $16 each. So I feel like most of these stores are really hit or miss. The prices are all over the place. And then there is one store where half of the fish arent marked and I think the owner just makes prices up depending on who he thinks he's talking to.
