Which one is better. I am having problems with my water I thought my tank was cycled been up 6 months. I just tested water and 1.0ppm ammonia and 0 nitrite 80 nitrate. What should I do. I have 2 hw304b with a emperor 400 on a 125 gallon tank with ceramic rings and pot cleaners in one than pads and bio matrix in other. Anything I am doing wrong. Please help thanks

How often do you do water changes? Are you consistent with them? Your filters do you clean them and how often and what do you do to clean each item.

+1. That's good amount of nitrate.

1 oscar 7 inch 1 heckli about 3 inch a precious and a Corey cat fish. I do 20 percent every week. But last week I didn't because out of town. Could that have done it. And my filters are clean

Your tank is very lightly stocked imo so your nitrates shouldn't be that high if you're doing 20% every week. How often do you feed and is there ever any uneaten food?

I feed once a day and sometimes there is left over food. Maybe I am feeding to much. I thought since I had all that filtering I wouldn't have a problem.

Sounds like too much food and a missed water change. Maybe you should increase your water changes to more volume changed as well. Adding some more media might help as well. I like pond matrix myself.
