Ceramic rings?

I have two emp 400's and I was wondering if I could just take the filter pads out and use the ceramic rings and the water polisher instead?

Leave the filters and just put the ceramic rings in the gray filter media thing.

That sounds similar to what I did to my whisper ex.

I'm assuming by filter pads you mean carbon pads, if so, yes.

I run sponges, biomax and purigen in my hob's.

I have the floval water polisher media in the grey greys but it just seems that the carbon pads clog up really fast andi don't like buy them

I would use one filter for polishing and the other for Bio.
