I was at a local fish store who specializes in Asian arowana. I was looking at a blue base cross back, and when I was at the counter I asked to have the fish scanned and he did so.

He then pulled out the certificate and the description said it was a 24k gold cross back. But the scan tag number matched.

Being leary I backed out of the sale and said I would think about it. I still have the tag number, is there anyway I can cross reference this number somewhere to verify the authenticity of this fish? I also have the farm name where this fish supposedly originated from.

Any suggestions?

can a mod please move this to the main forum? It shouldn't be in the media lounge.

Sorry.

Is there a central database where I can input this tag number and cross reference the fish itself? This tag number must be cataloged somewhere and kept on file to be able to identify the fish no?

Can cites be contacted directly regarding this?

Is it from DFI farm? My 24K looks like its blue base too. Its just how their 24k looks.

I asked this question sometime back when my 24k started getting blue. Accordingly, farms might name their aros 24k when the pearlies are gold. Check to see if they are. In dark tanks, all aros will have some blue/purple in their base colour. At least that is what i was told.
