CF people, help me

My 150 is nearly empty with only 12 juvie african cichlids. The tabk has silica sand and a large pile of rocks and pH is around 7.2. I removed 12 loaches, 1 catfish an eel and my pleco. The tank is pretty empty and i want a large catfish max 20" or so as it is a 18" deep tank. I really wanted an O. niger because they get large, look awsome and wont eat all my fish. As seeing they get 36"+ and i'd like to keep my fish more than a year, i need another suggestion. I have been looking through planetcatfish with out any luck. Any non-pleco 12-20" catfish that wont eat all my wifes fish or out grow my tank in 6 months that i dont know about?


Im looking for odd looking catfish, real ugly ones like o.niger, chacas or eel-cats but something i can actually get at a fish shop

a cuckoo synodontis was the first thing i thought of but you want a ugly catfish so search planet catfish for fish that come from lake tanganika , onlyone exept ynodontis is e cat.

Asian Upsidedown Cat.... Mystis (spelling) species. I've got one that is getting close to 7", maybe a trade in the works.......

isn't silica sand bad ?

asian upsidedown catfish will eat little fish

most eel tail catfish will work the one you posted above would be just fine

silica sand is perfectly fine.
