I want to provide UVB rays for my new lizard and I am wondering what way would be best. I know my savannah monitor never got any and hes doing just fine.

Exo Terra has CFL's for a great price on this one website. If I whent with a MV I would simply pick it up at the next expo but they also cost alot more.

Tell me what you think.

sorry for the ignorance, and it's probably gonna be something really obvious, but what do CFL and MV stand for?

I purchase and use reptileUV mecury vapor bulbs(aka Active UV)They are the better I think than zoomed's mv bulbs. I order mine in 4 from Reptilesupply.com

moniters need heat, what are you asking? Are you asking which one to get first? Power compacts I would get last, sure the light is super bright and crisp but they don't generate enough heat (from what I'm aware of) for a lizard. I'd get the MV first then the pcf, also yes I do agree that zoomed's 10.0uvb tube bulbs are another good choice.

I know my lizard needs heat, and I have that down perfectly. I just wanted to know what kind of UV would be best. I don't mind adding one or more lamps to the cage.
