Just wondering how many of these guys I could keep in a 30''x12''x22''?
Do they need a sand sbustrate? I have "Natural gravel" with a bunch of large river rocks on top of it.

Also, were would one purchase a Chaca Chaca?

If I cant find a Chaca, I will most likely get a gulper...

same size you could get about 3 mabye more if you just had then kinda boreing but still cool they need big water changes they will give of wierd stuff that turns the water acidic

Yeah, I heard about the acidic thing.
Pretty interesting.

A trio would be cool, since they just sit around and are more ambush preds, I was thinking of putting a whole bunch of guppies/tetras in there for them to snack on whenever they want.

But, I'm still wondering if sand substrate is absolutely needed for these guys?
My tank isnt very bright, 1/3 of the tanks light is covered.

sand isn't a must have but sand is preferd so they can burrow them selfs in it gravel makes it harder to do so

really like all fish you would wan't to feed them prepared foods like shrimp and fish fillets but if you QT some goldfish or have cichlid fry you could of course give it to them it swim around till it got close to one of the chacas then whooomph it would be gone

Yeah, I'm not just going to feed them feeders, but the guppies/tetras will provide movement to the tank and give the chacas something to do.

Besides All-Happy, anyone know were to get these guys?
Pretty sure All-Happy doesnt ship, and I'm not in Cali.

So no one knows were to get these guys besides All Happy?

I would say you could get 3 or so in a tank of that size, and yes they need a sand substrate enough to bury themselves in. I had a couple once it was amazing watching them burrow head first into the sand with a couple of flicks of their tail and almost instantly disappear. I don't know where you can get one but try aquarist classifieds thats where i got mine. Ive been looking for XL clown loach for 2 years now, really annoying. :) Good luck with them.
