I have heard that chain dogfish only get 19" long. has anyone ever seen one for sale before?

They get biggger than that, but they are fairly small.
Downside is COLD water and a dark or dim tank work best.

Yeah - Chain Catsharks get to be 24" long and really need water temps no higher than the low 60s. So they are a small beautiful cool water species.

So does anyone know where to get them? or just an estimated price? I've been doing as much research as I can and price and availability are the two things i cannot find.

They're a great candidate for captive breeding for those that can keep them. Don't forget you'd need a killer chiller for em!

To your direct question, last time I saw them they were $350 or so.

I've never seen a 'do it yourself' chiller done. Dealing with the coolant contact chamber construction would be a pain. So easy to just buy one that you know works well.
