Chain Pickerel Tankmate

Always thought this duo would work, and for the last week it has.
Went out and got a striped Raphael catfish and threw it in with my Chain Pickerel. Chain doesn't even notice it's there, Raphael doesn't move much, but cleans up after the pickerel and pellets I drop in for the guppies the Chain doesn't eat right off the bat.
So far it's been working really well.
So the age old question of tankmates for pickerel has been answered

Keep him fed and he will probably leave the cat alone, although I've heard of fish injuring themselves trying to eat a fish like the rapheal, and pickerel do have a tendency of trying to swallow fish approaching their own size. I'd keep and eye on it.

when i had my pickeral, i had yellow perch, 2 rainbow trout and a channel cat in with him, the biggest thing is that everything was well out of his reach of eatting.

I plan on keeping either redspots or my Ospots with mine, but I have 2 grass and not a chain
