i saw 1 2day i really want 2 get 1 but i dont kno anything about them can any1 help me???? i read they only get 8" dont sound right 2 me tho iz it true????

I have one too. He is only about 2 inches right now. I don't see him at all, he is always hiding and never comes out during feeding time [he lives with plecos and discus] so i don't know what he lives on to survive. he RARELY ever comes out, maybe once every 3 months??? They're such mystery, shy fish that sometimes i forget that i even have one! He doesn't swim too, i'm sure he CAN but most of the time he pretends to be a dead leaf sleeping at the bottom under the wood. He doesn't bother any of my other fishes and none of them bothers him either. ^^

I just picked two up last weekend, lost one on the trip home though. put him in a grow out with some P.Bass I have, as soon as he hit the water he went straight to the bottom buried his self in the sand and haven’t seen him since.

They are easy fish to keep if you give them their basic needs. Soft acidic water ( which they will turn even more acidic because they lower the PH of the water ) sand to burrow in.

You'd be surprised if you looked into the tank at night, with a small lamp. If they're happy they will be out of cover.

They get to about 15 centimetres.

I would not mix them with Polys. Do a specific tank for them. Or for them and like fish. I keep 4 chakas wuith 2 Thalassophryne Amazonica ( Amazon Toadfish ).
