Has anyone ever kept Chalceus erythrurus - Tucanfish with their rays. Im looking to add a bit of mid water movement to the tank and saw these at a lfs, or are they just going to end up as a snack as I believe they top out at around 9"

Yeah they get a decent size. They are mainly top water and very fast so they should be fine in a group.

I have kept a shoal of these with a motoro and reticent few years ago.
these fish are extremely skittish. and they are serous voracious feeders. so you will have to feed a lot. they also get to 10 inch ... maybe more. .they were ok....
but I prefer red hooks or tinfoil
