Hello guys,
I was wondering what are the major challenges in keeping African Arowana (Heterotis niloticus).
I realize their size and the corresponding tank-size is one parameter to consider.
Besides the size issue, these seem to be easy to keep as (from what I have read) they seem less fuzzy about food..Is this correct?
Are there any other important points to keep in mind?
These are very rare in India and I am considering going out to look if I can get one. (This is going to take some time.)
In the long term, I plan to keep them in a 225 gal. (6' X 2.5'(width) X 2') tank with a Silver Aro, a couple of FL Gars and (temporarily) a couple of Gator Gars.
(Gator Gars will be sold once they reach 2-2.5 feet. I may add a few other varieties of Lepisosteus sp. if I can find them.)
Your thoughts?
