Chamber material for Sump?

For those of you that have made your own sumps/wetdrys, what material do you use to build your chambers and baffles (and what thickness)?

I've seen sheets of plexiglass/acrylic at home depot, which is bloody costly. Glass is just a little bit cheaper but seems more difficult to cut. Any other alternative or preferred location to shop?

I've got some GE silicone II handy, is that good enough for aquarium use?
 
I used Corian solid surface counter top. Got it from JD_man who worked in a counter top shop. He said if there is a shop around you that does that kind of stuff, chances are they'll give you some scraps. It's easy as hell to work with too, you can cut it like it's a board.
 
corian solid surface counter top? what material is that? i thought most countertops are either wood or heavy rock...got any pics of your sump?
