I just bought 6, four to six inch juveniles which I have been looking for for years, anyway I was wondering if anybody here owns any and that if you do could you please tell me what you think about them based on your personal experience with them. Oh and buy the way they are in a 180 so they will have enough space. Thanks...Scott.

180 may still be too small. they get 18",they are open water fish, they need lots of swim room. post some picture when u can

i've never seen one over 12". But then again, I don't see them too often

I saw some place on the internet that said that they get 18 inches too but at every other place they said that they get 12.5 inches so it's anybodys guess how big they get but it did say that they should be kept in at least a tank of 175 gallons so I'm covered, I'll post a few pics tonight but you'll have to look in my personal gallery to see them since I don't know how to insert them in a thread.

Just out of curiosity, are they the same species as the Malawi Eye-biter? They look remarkably similar.

No they aren't the D. Compressicep (Malawi eye biter).
