i have a local member selling 2 4-6" golden axolotls for $20 each

i am currently doing my homework (and more importantly asking my fiance's permission) but i think it would be sweet to own

whats everyone think?
how rare / hard to get are they?

and is $20 a fair price?

thanks

They go for $400 where I live. But there's where I live.:D

That is a fair price. They are awesome pets. Some of the friendliest aquatic pets you can keep. Just make sure to keep their tank very clean. They have really sensitive skin.

I would defiantly buy though. Not hard to get over internet either.

Good price, just be sure their axolotls, we ordered some for the store I work at and got waterdogs sent instead, which shortly turned to salamanders

My old lfs would get them pretty regular, and they would sell them for $20.00 a piece.
So I guess that's going price for them. At least in my neck of the woods, and for $400.00 they could keep them.

$40 here, by golden im sure tyhey mean albino or leucistic? then its ok because mud dogs dont go albino/ leucesitic but if its brown (which wudnt make sense that there called golden) id count the toes and make sure its an axolotl

Yup. $20-$40 is in the usual range around here, too.

thats a good price. i've only seen them in a store here once, and they were $60...
