i actually want to share this and want to know what u guys think of this. my 2 aros were fighting alot so i decided to change the Bg. now the one that was dominating is getting beaten up by the one that was previously getting beaten up. why has this happened? will the fighting stop soon?

Going to need to know the size of the arowanas, types, size of the tank and any tankmates you have with them.

My suggestion would be just to seperate them. 2 aros together is already difficult enough to maintain.

Likely it has less to do with the color of the back ground and more to do with the commotion you created in changing out the background. It could be that the aro which was dominant became stressed or got hurt, the other arowana is now taking advantage of this.

Or maybe since the arowana look similar you have mistaken which one was and now is dominant

the dominant one was the bigger one which is like 25cm and the smaller one is around 17cm so there is a marked difference in their sizes. and both the aros are eating well. just fed them prawns and both of them ate. is it just the normal fight they have for territory coz they have been together for a week now. they are not fighting all that much now. only the odd fight. is this fine or i should separate them. they are in a 75 gallon tank now but in a week they wil be shifted to a 240 gallon. at present the tank mates are 2 giant gourami and a florida gar

These two arowana have only been together for a few days? Not sure a background change would matter at all.

so now since the fighting has reduced considerably do you think i can leave them in the tank together. its just the odd tap in between and nothing much now. but before the bigger one was giving it to the smaller one but now its the smaller one giving odd taps to the bigger one. no damage to fins or anything though

Can't really give an exact answer. You'll just have to see how it goes. When I tried to keep two small silvers together they fought, I would seperate and try again in different tanks, with and without tankmates. No matter what I did these two aros fought, I finally had to sell one of them.

Later one I tired to mix the silver I kept with a black aro, it lasted for a couple hours before they started fighting. I was finally able to find a match when i adopted another large silver aro. I put the two together and they have never fought, it's been close to 2 years that they have been togehter.

I am planning on putting the two silvers and the black all together here in a couple months, I just hope all goes well.

It will depend on the personality of Aro. But most likely i think you can keep them mixed.

even when the aros fight there is no breaking of any fin or anything. and they dont go at each other at the same time. its sometimes the smaller one going after the bigger one and sometimes the bigger one going after the smaller one. so you think i can keep them together with no problems right.
thank you
